⚠️ Heads up: This comes from a liberal perspective—but it’s written for everyone who values democracy. I’ll share my thoughts, and I’d love to hear yours—especially if we don’t agree. And if I manage to convert you… let me know. 😉
We are here to make a difference.
We are here to channel outrage into action.
We are here to draw on the collective wisdom and energy of everyday Americans to protect a democracy we still treasure.
We already have the solutions—if only we can come together.
The more I talk to neighbors, friends, and even strangers, the more I realize we have far more in common than the media or political class would have us believe. Most of us, regardless of party, want the same basic things: a safe home, a good education for our kids, a fair shot at prosperity, and the freedom to live without fear or lies.
My family helped build this country—and fought to keep it free from kings.
I’m not willing to let it slip away.
That’s why I started The Civic Solutions Lab:
A space for idea-sharing, frustration-taming, problem-solving, and reimagining what civic action looks like in the 21st century.
Let's Start with You
Take a moment and reflect:
❓ What is your biggest fear right now for this country?
📉 Which actions by this Administration are impacting you most directly?
🛠 What grassroots resistance or pushback have you seen that actually works?
💥 What are you willing to do to help preserve a strong, honest, and open democracy?
Bring your answers to the Lab!
Cutting the strings
What we don’t need are more talking heads telling us how we feel, manipulating us with slanted stories, or pitting us against each other like marionettes on a stage.
I remember when we could argue fiercely about politics and still go out for coffee afterwards.
We haven’t changed. The environment has.
Let’s reclaim our voices. Let’s talk to each other, not about each other. Let’s stop letting fear drive us—and instead lead with courage, compassion, and common sense. And let’s return to a shared belief that a strong democracy is good for all of us.
What’s Next
The Civic Solutions Lab is just getting started. In our next issue, we’ll tackle the question:
…Why now?
And I’ll share concrete, proven actions that everyday citizens are taking right now to push back and protect our democratic values.
Join us—and bring a friend.
Let’s get to work.
